Oops! Typo!

When I wrote,

“PS About Graham’s comments on , I’d like to add that this drawing did use the standard format Rootes drafting sheets. I assume this was because of the oversized nature of the drawing, but it’s on my “to do” research list the next time I visit.”

…I for got the word “not”.

It should have said …

…that this drawing did not use the standard format Rootes drafting sheets. I assume this was because of the oversized nature of the drawing, but it’s on my “to do” research list the next time I visit.

About a year or so ago a benefactor who was closing a business donated quite a bit of equipment including a pair of large format printer/plotters to the Archive. I would not be surprised if they can now scan & print over 99% of the drawings in house.

That being said, the UK has suffered quite a bit from the virus and the Archive has essentially been padlocked for many months. They lost a lot of revenue from fund raising events that had to be cancelled. Now that the country is re-opening they should soon again be able to address requests. ,Those interested in prints or scans (or donating during these last few “matching” days, 😉) can refer to their website at https://www.rootesarchive.org/

Good, looks like some drawings came through.

They can scan any document they have. I believe I paid 10 British pounds for this one. Shipping to the US would cost. I had to find a tube to put it in and carried it on the plane. Got the tube for free from a store we just happened to go into. They had big rolls of paper on them.

Buck probably knows more about what the Archive Center will do. What drawings they have cataloged so far are arranged by part number. The rare Imp water pump was able to be reproduced using the drawings.

Do they sell full size copies of the drawings?
