[Tigers] Contact Cement and Sealer for Windshield/Dash Pad Job

I have a suggestion of what you may not want to do. That of course is
valuable in its own right. I covered the top of the car dash area with
contact cement. Then I covered the bottom of the new dash top and the
forward edge with contact cement. After it dried, I laid multiple strips
of wax paper over the top, put down the pad, and pulled one sheet out at a
time. It would rip or bind up around the top of the edge.
On hindsight, if I did it again, I would probably not put any contact
cement on the forward edge of the metal or pad. I would lay the wax paper
up to the top edge, and forward over the bonnet. I would then put the dash
top on, push it hard forward and down, then pull the wax paper forward.
Does that make sense?
If there is a thicker wax paper than the common kitchen stuff, I'd get that
too.
I did it alone. This really would work that much better if I had an extra
set of hands to keep the dashtop in the right place.
Best,
Jay
