I agree with Mark that this is a great idea, since you only need to remove the 4 bolts at the pinion flange and can leave the driveshaft yoke in the transmission to keep the oil from coming out. If you remove the driveshaft completely, you have to get a plug for the back of the tranny, when you raise the front end of the car on the dollie.

The safest bet for towing your Tiger on a dolly is to disconnect the drive shaft from the differential. With a small floor jack and a couple jack stands it can be disconnected/reconnected in twenty minutes or so. I made up a temporary hanger with ratchet straps to hold the shaft in place underneath the car (bungees not recommended!). I have done this several times when taking car to Doug’s or across the Great Plains. _______________________________________________
