>From the perspective of Bring a Trailer and the seller the prolonged bidding makes sense. It has the potential to make more money But had I been an actual bidder I would have found it frustrating. Yes, I get that like a regular auction where the bidders are typically present, - it end when no one else bids higher. But in the BaT case there was a set end time that becomes “variable” and a regular auction does not have that. It was different, sort of a hybrid between the two bidding methods that I had never seen before. Just my perspective of a long time Ebay bidder who, might I add, won his Book of Norman in the very last second back in 2001 (and No “reset the clock”).

its not a last min bid. after every bid there is a 2 min time to get a new bid in gives everyone a chance to assess what they want to do,and let us with slow puters keep up

The last minute snipe bis makes total sense to me..
Why engage in driving the price up early? Bid at the last moment the maximum you are prepared to pay and you either walk away happy or know it was beyond what you were prepared to pay. removes emotion and regret. ;-D

And interesting that the winning bidder was nowhere to be seen in the earlier bids. Just swoop in at the last minute and won. Not that that makes it any less valid. Of course it largely falls on the prior bidders for failing to put in their max - if they would have bid more had they known someone else was going to do it. Still, I've found that frustrating in the past.

Peculiar auction the way the bidding timer kept rolling back to 2:00. It was a like football game where the referee kept saying, “Put _ _ seconds back on the clock.” Put a fork into it, it’s DONE! (after about 10 extra “two minute warnings”) Sold for $12,500.

FYI -
For anyone with an extensive penchant to rebuild a formerly rolled Tiger, this B382002658 project car looks like it lacks the extensive rust and would make a worthwhile restoration / rebuild project.
