On the brake subject. Has anyone come up with a replacement for the pistons that might be found in a modern car?  Guess I'm saying that replacement Tiger pistons are fairly pricey and if the exact size, fitting some modern car could be found at auto parts stores or in salvage yards it could be a nice savings.                 Put the frozen calipers in a bucket of ATF and let them soak – they will free up – pull or cut the rubber boots off first so the ATF can soak in – if you can pump some ATF behind the pistons do that to.

I have painted the center sections on other discs with out problems.   You just have to remember that the rotors get hot so you need heat resistant paint or caliper paint in a thin coat.

Subject: [Tigers] Brake project, painting the discs

Hello,
Recently, I got two old frozen calipers that i'm trying to free up.

But today's question is about the discs. I want them to look nice through my Minilites but i've heard that you
shouldn't paint one of the center sections. Is this true? Is the center that shouldn't be painted the concave side
or the convex side? I sure would like to paint both !

Please help!
