If you want it to look original I wouldn't paint it, if you have to paint it Krylon Dull Aluminum looks pretty close to original. If you paint it it will eventually wear off or if gas gets on it it could come off.You can degrease it with carb cleaner, brake cleaner, Simple green, or Awesome cleaner and a tooth brush. It should clean up and look pretty close to original.

Hi All
I am planning to refinish the f4b manifold on my MkI. I am thinking of using Por 15 high temp manifold paint. 
My question for the List is which shade is correct for an f4b...the factory gray or the aluminum. See the link below...it has an image of the different shades available. FYI...other than a few LAT options I have a very stock (restored) car and I want it to be as close to original looking as possible.
