The 2 speed was achieved by a big resistor across the motor. Green goes to 12v supply via fuse block, black to chassis ground. Red and brown to switch at 1 and 4 with one of them, probably green going via the resistor. 6 on the switch goes to chassis ground.
That is an SV Alpine setup. Should be the same.

Matt Hourigan

Hi,

I'm trying to test everything before I install things under the dash. I'm
now trying to test the wiper motor. There are four wires coming out- red,
green, brown and a ground wire on the case. If I put 12V between the red
and green the motor works. But nothing happens if I put 12V on any other
combination of wires. Shouldn't I be able to get a different speed using
another wire?

Secondary question: is there a diagram that shows which wire goes to which
post on the switch? I have the wiring diagram but it doesn't show how the
wires connect to the switch.

Thanks,
Joe Brown

1 ? the switch

Position 1 ? Red light green wire

Position 4 ? brown light green wire

Position 6 ? ground wire

The green wire feeds 12v to wiper motor from fuse

2 - the motor ? sorry I?m not the electrical guy but I think the 2 speeds are done by internal connections in the motor
