OK, Thanks Michael. It even has the original exhaust pipes, clamps, and tail pipes (mufflers were replaced). The paper work shows "locking gas cap" wonder what that looked like.

David, if they got the factory rootes luggage rack they didnt actually drill the boot(trunk) lid. It had 4 rubber pads and a series of metal tethers that wrappen around the edge of the lid to hold it on. The rubber cups could leave a mark, but if he took it off after his european trip ( which seems likely given its limited use as a daily car for the next 30 years ) could probably buff any marks out.
When the car was sold recently it still had the original top on: ( lots of great detail photos)
