I have this Mexican 302 block circa late 60's in age. Curious as to the
crank quality of that era. Are the heads from a Mexican motor worth anything
other than scrap value? My turbo motor, used in the Sunbeam, was damaged
when my twin turbo setup lost a boost control hose and boost went to around
20 psig and to more than 400 dF on the charge air temp. Killed 3 pistons on
that run, lol. And scored the dookey out of those 3 cylinder walls. I buffed
out the cylinders but now beyond any reasonable repair and so I may stick
the new pistons and rods into the 302 block after a 0.030 over bore
operation. My Crank was also damaged a bit as well during the turbo
excursion. Hence the Mexican crank question. The turbo motor has all the
good internal parts and those would be transferred over to the Mex block.
Then offered for sale after maybe a dyno session to get hp and tq. A large
Holley would be used rather than efi however.

Any thoughts or answers on the Mexican crank? Same as or worse or better
than standard ford of that era? Heads worth anything?

No hurry on this. cleaning out the shop..

mayf
