[Tigers] Pertronix Ignition

Many thanks to all who responded to my question regarding my Pertronix
ignition.  I've been out of town lately and unable to devote time to the
problem.  I have checked for loose connections and found none, but I will
check further.

 

Many of the responses dealt with the ballast resistor.  In my installation,
the resistor has been removed in accordance with the recommendation in the
Pertronix II instructions.  It was always my understanding that resistors
were used to enhance the life of breaker points, while the coils would
tolerate a continuous 12 volts without issue.  There seems to be
disagreement on this (possibly because "we've always done it this way"), but
I may reinstall the resistor for the coil input but not for the module.
