It helps hold the arm on the pivot, they aren't expensive, a coat hanger is a little big and doesn't have tension.

The clutch fork's spring is described as an "anti-rattle" spring.Does it not have any function in retaining the fork in position on the fork pivot? Has anyone created a fork spring from wire?  Would clothes hanger wire would work? Is there any pic or description on how the spring is CORRECTLY attached to the pivot bar on the bellhousing?
