[Tigers] Clutch Fork Spring Question

The clutch fork's spring is described as an "anti-rattle" spring.
Does it not have any function in retaining the fork in position on the fork
pivot?
Has anyone created a fork spring from wire?  Would clothes hanger wire
would work?
Is there any pic or description on how the spring is CORRECTLY attached to
the pivot bar on the bellhousing?
