Darrell? owner of the Le Mans Tiger? Is it the Le Mans that has the 4 bar and watt's link or another of your cars? Thanks for taking the time to reply and for not suggesting I go buy a Miata.
I've searched for your car but come up empty with any photos of the suspension configuration. With the Watt's link I assume that the 4 link is a parallel type? Any details or photos you could share would be appreciated.
Currently I'm planning to proceed and don't think it is too daunting a task. It's simple geometry but precision in the execution is critical. I think there is room for a 20" lower link attached to the leaf spring mount. A simple reinforced mount on the inner frame for the upper diagonal about 13" deep will yield 45 deg to the center and be about 19" in total length. Then build reinforced coil over mounts connected to the inner frame in the pocket that the shocks fit into. Rubber bushing joints at the Axle and Currie Johnny joints at the frame to allow roll through articulation without binding. I think I will hold off on a sway bar until after the car is driven.
Here's a link to images with measurements of the space under the tiger. https://photos.app.goo.gl/r2N6TEUHcVD7KtAi1 Note this is the stock axle that will go into storage. I'll be ordering a bare ford 8.8 for this. And here is a link to an example of a muscle car conversion kit http://www.artmorrison.com/2006cat/37.pdf
thanks for any details.
