[Tigers] Engine Id and SUch

“Perhaps a marine engine? I've heard that some were fitted in tugboats.”

The Franken-Windsor in my early Tiger has a 5 bolt 289, ‘66 heads and a cast iron D1JE-9425-AA 4 Bbl. intake manifold which at Musangtek.com is listed as a “302 marine?” So there may be something to that Tug Boat rumor. Of course its best use would be as an anchor.

Don't forget that industrial engines were part of farm equipment. Ford owned New Holland farm equipment suppliers. I was once talking with an old parts manager at a New Holland dealership to see if he could cross any of the Tiger part numbers with New Holland. He said it was probably in the old parts books, but those had been tossed out years ago. Mark
