Terry,
Now I see what you are talking about..
NO, I do not see anything like that in my latch. My hole is much
tighter tolerance, can't really see it, side slop says its not perfect
but nothing like
yours. Your U slo,t where the wear should be I would think, looks like
brand new, mine looks more worn there.
Its kind of hard to push it down by hand (screwdriver) but it seems to
just rotate.
Merry Xmas, maybe Santa could find you an Alpine donor one! The spring
is pretty strong in mine, if I disassembled it to weld it, I don't think I
could get back together.
