[Tigers] Follow Up to my Dumb Questions regarding hard and soft top bow to windscreen weather stripping.

Ok, I get it now.. It was me that fubared the install long ago using screws.
Consensus is that rivets were the OEM fastener used. Somewhere around 1975
(+ or -) I replaced the OEM top and used screws for reinstall. I wasn't too
bright in those days. All will be remedied hopefully today when I glue the
top to the front bow and then while holding the weather stripping rail in
place to hold the top fabric I will remove the screws one at a time and
install OEM quality rivets back in their place. Maybe I will get 'er done
today! Actually tired of screwing (no pun intended) with it and want to move
on to putting 'lift the dots' on the new tonneau. OEM one needs repair and
is going into a sealed bag for the next owner if there is one. Maybe I will
take it all with me after all.

Many thanks to all who answered and my apologies to those people who told me
so and I was non believer. my head hangs in shame.

Sunbeam Specialties told me today that the seals are interchangeable. But
when I said that on the soft top they were a 4 alarm booger to get into the
"C" channel because of the screws holding it to the front bow, he said
screws should be rivets! Wha.? I have owned this car for 50 years now and
although I purchased it used, it only had a few thousand miles on it and the
rag top was original. Could my memories have dimmed that much from the very
first time I changed the soft top? Do any of you folk have your rag top in
original condition and where the seal location is visible and can look at it
and verify rivets vs screws? If rivets are OEM then I know who it will go
back together, lol. Screw for temp install to hold then rivets alongside the
screws to fasten permanently. Or replace the screws in the OEM holes with
rivets, one at a time. This is, of course, my MK 1, last 4 vin #s 1136.

Thanks kindly, ya'll
