[Tigers] Hood bumper

Interestingly I've driven many times with the hood unlatched. It might
raise up an inch or so and then goes back down. The only time I've seen it
try to go up a little is when a truck goes by. Of course I'm talking about
-70 mph. Higher than that someone will have to tell me :-)

Actually, if you are leaving the hood open s couple of inches then you can
build an upside down hood pin latch. Remove the spring latch in the rear
center, replace it with a shortened hood pin, then make a Z shaped receiver
plate for it. use an R clip to hold the hood in the closed position. You can
reach the clip through the opening at the rear of the hood.

I cant imagine a solution that does not use pins at each corner. The
length of the pins will allow choice of opening. With pins you could also lay a
length of hose in the center (about 1.5 or 1.75 dia.) and use the pins
(adjusted for height) to keep your hood from flying up. The hose should keep
the hood open enough for additional air flow.

When I've had hood pins on a car, the easiest bumper was a piece of 1/2
inch ID heater hose.

That may not work for your situation but you could potentially use fuel
line or some other kind of hose.

think of anything that I could modify that would serve this purpose. Any ideas?
A Tiger owner once mentioned something he saw being used, but I can't
remember what it was.

Hood hits air cleaner (hi-rise intake with spacer under carb). Looking to
keep hood up a little until I can cut up on old hood and put a scoop on
it.
