[Tigers] Stock 260 Engine Camshaft Question

The lift tolerance of the original 260 engine was stated with the technology of the day in the Performance Tuning book. Modern abilities to advance and retard cams and the use of hydraulic rollers or even mechanical tappet cam profiles will also affect the actual clearances realized by a particular combination regardless of lift and overlap.
It really should be checked to ensure you have clearance if you are considering uprating the cam as the science has changed and what seems minor may in fact produce an interference problem.
If the engine is apart slap a head on and adjust the valve clearance and check with clay.
If the engine is assembled then install weak springs on one cylinder and check clearance every 10 degrees of rotation to ensure you have the required clearance ... note that advancing or retarding the cam will also affect dynamic clearance and you would need to check after making that type of adjustment.

The key point would be that with a 260 ci engine any cam that is usable will likely be pretty mild as the small displacement would not favour some of the higher lift cams as it would deliver very low power/torque down low where most street Tigers will spend all of their time.
I would personally opt for something like a Comp Cam RV Torque cam that is intended to build cylinder pressure at low RPM with a working RPM range of 1500-3500 RPM.
