[Tigers] Hard Top Trim

Frank
I believe lubricant of any kind is absolutely the wrong way to go.
Buy some wax and silicone remover and wipe the channel area and weatherstrip
down well several times.

I'm sure the Shop Manual would say use Seelastik to hold it in but I
don't think it explains weatherstrip install.

I believe you need to use a sealer or contact cement to get the weather
strip to stay. Again I'll state it has been about 13 years since I put my
hardtop together and memory is faded. I do hope others with more current
information jump in.

Center the weatherstrip on the hardtop, apply a few inches of sealer or
cement in the bottom of the channel at the center,
push the forward edge of the weatherstrip into the channel, then use an old
credit card or plastic edge to push the back edge of the weatherstrip into
the channel. Continue with some sealer or glue to both edges, cut off any
excess weather-strip.

Hope that helps

Ron Fraser

let me know any tricks to put front weatherstrip on hardtop? can get it
half way on then it pulls out of track. driving me nuts. silicone
lubricant makes it easy to pull half way then helps it pop out as you pull
through. any suggestions welcome

Thanks
