Wasn't a front bench seat a 64-1/2 only option?

I was having the heads done on my Tiger 20+
years ago...the guy doing the
machine work asked me if I wanted to sell the
heads. I asked him what was
so special about my 289 heads- he pointed out the
'64 date stamped on them
and said 64 1/2 Mustang guys would kill for those
heads on their
restorations. I passed on the offer, but smile when I think
about it!

Running
short on windmills that need tilting at?
You might has well try to get people
to stop calling early mustangs a 64.5.
Ford titled them as 65 so why should
people call them 64.5?

Just because Rootes did not call them anything
different, the significant
change in the VIN indicates that Rootes thought
something notable had
changed.
Mk1a is as good a moniker for that difference
as any.

This person suggested instead to use the VIN prefix(i.e. 'I've got a

or 'I've got a B947'.
