Hello,
Just wanted to say a public thanks to Dexter Polistock (Mk 11) and Tod
Brown (Mk 1A) hosts and organizers of another great mid-coast Maine Sunbeam
get together by the sea.
Though weather was predicted to be difficult over the Columbus Day weekend,
the Sunbeam gods prevailed and great companionship, fun, and seafood, and
weather was had by all.
This gathering has become a classic in the north-east. If you can, try and
make it next year. Beautiful leaves turning their flaming fall colors with
a nip in the air, makes it a memorable time.Top-down touring is
de rigueur.
Sunday, the gathering shifted to Owl's Head for their foreign car week-end.
A terrific assortment of overseas vehicles from every country, with a
backdrop of flying museum aircraft. My favorite of the group, was an enclosed
passenger cabin plane (Fokker C.IVA 1923) with open cockpit with a
Rolls-Royce Eagle
12-cylinder engine.
Did I mention the seafood?
Best to all,
Jim Armstrong
