The Good:
Went to the Pittsburgh Vintage GP Saturday at Schenley Park, about 320 miles
round trip. The racing was mediocre, they don't allow AP, BP, ASR, BSR or
anything bigger than Formula III cars on track as they are too fast for the
tight wooded street circuit. Most were parading anyway. However the car shows
were great, the German car show won for sheer volume, never seen so many BMWs
and Minis.

The Bad:
Tiger started overheating at constant 75 MPH, gage kept climbing the faster I
drove, got off turnpike onto back roads and temp dropped but stayed higher
than normal but OK for trip.

The Ugly:
Got home, opened bonnet, see green polypropylene glycol goo all over inside of
engine compartment. Muttered unprintable verbiage then went inside to fetch
appropriate beverage to aid in diagnostics. Choose a Fuller's ESB. No visible
leaks in hoses, so tighten them, drop coolant, replace thermostat and refill
with new coolant plus Redline water wetter. Take Tiger out for high speed run,
no heating issues at any speed, just sitting there at 180F. Come home, open
bonnet, see more glycol goo, start looking at radiator and find pinhole in
centre section of tubing. Small leak but the fan acted as an excellent
distribution device hence the glycol goo everywhere. Muttered even more choice
words, went inside to get heavy duty fighting beverage to aid in radiator
removal. Came back with Samuel Smith oatmeal stout. Radiator out for repair
(new triple core radiator was only four years old).

Tested two year old thermostat, would not open in boiling water, another fine
aftermarket (NAPA) POS.

Oh well, just another exciting Tiger weekend!
