There was a CAT tech tip on replacing the T handle.  Nit a quick job.

I have a Nail with some tape on mine! I got a replacement from David
Kee top
loader and I think the other fellow that rebuilds top loaders has the
part. I
think you need to pull the shift leaver apart and so a bit of
soldering to
replace it. I'm sure others out here have done the job can
explain it better.
