Way back in the dark ages, when I started to buy spark plugs,
I asked a sage mechanic about Champion plugs.
He said "I wouldn't put a Champion in a kiddy cart"
I asked why.
He said he spent too many cold winter NIGHTS
Changing out OE Champions in new cars, back in the '50s!

That may have a lot to do with why Ford bought Autolite.

Several years later, I asked Wally Cartwright ( check your Tiger history
) 
what he thought about Champions.
I got the EXACT SAME quote with the SAME voice inflections.
...I didn't ask why...
