[Tigers] Mini-Alternator work

Curtis -

Interesting, I never thought of fliping the side to mount the alternator, and looks like late model 5.0 pullies (vs Vbelt) and pickup for EFI i'm guessing. I'm going to mount the oil filter to the head sorta' like the stock tiger one, but with a Canton filter. I'll get pic's this weekend up of that that will work. I figured not much room in the engine bay so might as well keep things where they are at for the time being

BTW did you have any issues of the balancer being close to the bottom of the Edelbrock water pump? I have to do a bit of clean up as it looks too close for comfort given all the slop in alignment between the pump, housing, and block.

One thing that you can do is get to the heater hoses and bypass easier which was not a concern for me, just wanted it tucked tight infront of the head.

Good stuff I like seeing others solutions to the problem ;-)

Hi Tony,
I did something similar but mounted the alternator to the driver's side
head (better set back for more room). I used a March adjustment rod
for the tensioner (not the bolt shown for fitting). Attached are two photos,
one with the alternator off to the side and one mounted at the head height.
I had to go with the later for clearances. I used the Edelbrock water pump
which worked very well.
Nice pictures!
