[Spridgets] Ignition light

Apologies in advance in case I'm talking out of my backside, but does the
generator (dynamo) need a good bulb to work?  Or put another way, if the
bulb dies does the generator fail to charge?

Somebody else. . .in between fitting ceiling coving.
