Yes Jeff, thanks for that.  Now that I got it working the HIF 44 carb is the problem.  These cars don't like to sit for long periods of time and the crap gas here in California doesn't help.  The o-ring seal in the float bowl bottom cover must have dried out.  Bottom of carb all wet and dripping on the exhaust.  Mike.
