Oh, man, I’m really sorry to hear this.  I know I’ve kind of drifted away from SpridgetTalk, the past few years, but I’ve continued in the “lurk” mode.  I really enjoyed the email conversations Ed and I had “off-list” and we got along just fine.  I found him to be a delightfully ornery character and a genuinely good guy.

 

I see he was only 75, which, to me doesn’t seem very old (many of my friends are around that age and still very active).  I hope he didn’t suffer, but, I see he was in some sort of convalescent facility when he died, so I assume it may have been cancer that took him.  At any rate, his suffering is ended and he’s in a far better place.

FYI, I just received this from one of our local Healey club members, that Ed Kaler passed away in January.  He lived in the southwest Chicago suburb of Hinsdale with his wife Cindy for the past thirty years or so.  He was one of the founding members of the Illini Chapter of the AHCA. and until a few years ago, a frequent contributor the autox Healey and Spridget lists.  R.I.P. Ed.
