[Spridgets] Generator to alternator

So the generator in my Bugeye bit the dust. I have a good alternator out of late model Midget that I want to put into the Bugeye, while changing it over to negative ground. The alternator has 3 spade connections on it. Looking at wiring diagrams I see that the small pin goes to the ignition light, while the two large pins wiring eventually end up at the battery. My question is, since in my Bugeye there is only the one wire for the ignition light and one that goes to battery after the regulator, once I take the regulator out of the equation, should I connect both large pins on the alternator to the battery, one or the other pin, or does it even matter which one?
