Well I guess I gotta explain. After seeing Frank thrash and break his street car on touring laps at summit point. ( I had to weld his spring mount in my pit area at that event) I'm certain Frank had a definite desire to really drive a spridget at speed on a race course in a real race. Also the few times we caravan'd together we both drove them.like we stole them....probably to the dismay of ANYONE around US on the road! This car...why this car? I kinda said that to myself once I got it home and went through what it was and what I got. Here are a couple of real and somewhat serious answers:It was Frank's car. That alone should inspire some kind of positive "why" reaction. Frank's last project...left unfinished. It is an honor to be completing a late friend's dream. On a personal side, I'm one of a few people who have built nationally competitive spridgets and I've never built a half elliptic sprung car.So I kinda gotta idea on some of the stuff for a car like this.My sweetie , Mary Anne has wanted a "faster" car than our 1960 Saab 93F race car to drive in competition. Why not do a completely rust free 1970 Midget...Especially with a number of competition elements already in place..Oh I do not know...the question of why is an honest question. Possibly its just about finishing something a friend started and just never got around to......Chuck'60 saab 93F #251'67 SCCA H Modified sports racer "Brand X" #25'59 "sudar" bugeye #1 (DC region H/P car from '61-'64)And a few other nifty neato toys....I'm trying to hold onto.....
