Probably not lubricated.  You have two choices.  Pull back the rubber gaiter  and look or call Moss tech line and ask them.  By the way, the same rack is on sale at Victoria British for $110.Mike MacLean

Thanks Rick.  I am aware of the sale at VB.  I am trying to keep the Bugeye as original as possible when I can.  Yes, I have a 1275 and Datsun transmission, but other than that the car is dead stock with many original to the car components.  The VB rack is a generic type the will definitely fit and work fine, but it would just bother me every time I lifted the bonnet.  In any case I just sourced another Bugeye rack from eBay for only 7 bucks more than the last one costs.  At least I was told it was a Bugeye rack.  We'll see when it gets here.  In any case I have filled the rack in the car with Cornhead grease.  At least it is lubricated for as long as I want to take with a replacement.Mike

There was an auction on eBay for a Bugeye steering rack that I was interested in, but was not sure if it came from a Bugeye or was a later rack.  So, I sent a message to the eBay auction what car this rack came from.  I was answered the next day that it came from a Bugeye.  I immediately used the "buy it now" feature and paid $69 for it.  That was yesterday.  Today I get a message from the seller telling me he is refunding my money because he made a mistake and sold the steering rack two years ago.  No explanation why it was on eBay this week.  What the heck?  OK, so now I am still looking for a steering rack. Crap.Mike MacLean
