Just one thought,  look for a possible identifying Mark on the head casting.   If the manufacturer can be identified check with their reccomendations .   it would make sense that the same torque values would be the same as a cast iron head.   But that MIGHT be different with the alloy casting.   Better to be safe than sorry by doing some research first..  Chuck

My recently acquired Bugeye with 1275/Rivergate 5 speed/ aluminum head/1 1/2 " SUs) is ready for its after-break-in head torque, valve adjustment and fluid changes. All my experience is with cast iron stuff. Does the aluminum head use the same specs or are they different?
For the cast iron parts, I torque 10 head studs to 60 lb/ft, the 11th at the front to 25 lb/ft, the 4 rocker pedestals to 25, and the thermostat housing to 8. I set the valves to .018 cold. Should I use the same settings for the aluminum head or use different ones? Bob
