I was inclined to that view at first but think bearing life might be short  
so suggested a double bearing hub.

We have
a half a midget body (rear) and want  to make a trailer out
of it.  Can you use the rear axle without a  pumpkin?
Do you need the pumpkin to hold the axles  in
place?
