[Spridgets] Generator to Alternator Conversion....1971 MG Midget

This is all I have on the subject from Frank:


For alternator from generator  you have to connect the original field
wire (brown/green)from the generator to the ign light wire from the
regulator. (brown/yellow) or the 2 small wires at the regulator get
joined together for the light to work.
