I have been watching Craig's List in Honolulu for a "station car" we can 
leave sitting around when we are not there.  It is fairly common for the ads 
to specify "No PayPal scams."  I have no idea what that scam might be, but 
they clearly happen enough that people are leery of PayPal.  The delay 
between charge and payment (or nonpayment) may be enough to permit cars to 
be picked up before the transaction has cleared.  I would reject the offer.
