Well, I finally got around to doing a little trouble shooting this
afternoon.

The geared adapter had unscrewed from the tranny.

I put back on, took it out for a spin, but still no speedo action.
I play again tommorrow evening.

Hello Dean,

First test it to unplug the cable from the back of the speedo and
take a drive. Feel if the end of the cable itself is turning.
That will at least let you know if its the speedo itself, or the
other direction to focus your efforts on...

IF it's the cable, that can be repaired, in place. I'll have to
have a look, at mine to remember, but it was a trick Frank C.
passed along. If you have to REPLACE the cable, there's another
trick .... but if you have to replace the gear drive, it'll most
likely mean an engine pull to effect the repair....

Good luck... I hope its just the speedo.
