Why does this surprise anyone? The corporate officers are charged with
making the best return on their investors' money. The would be remiss in
not doing everything they can to maximize profit, and are in jeopardy of
loosing their [high paying] jobs. OTOH, there are NO consequences for their
flaunting the intent of the laws (remember the bank bailout, the intention
of which was to free up money to assist individuals save their homes, etc?
because they weren't told exactly how to use the money they were loaned
corporations were free to use it as they say fit.) Have any Wall Street
CEOs If you don't like the results of capitalism elect lawmakers and
executives who will put some limitations on the ability of the corporation
to screw the public. How about an FCC that will encourage competition among
media outlets and delivery (networks and cable companies): if there were
real competition there would be fair pricing.
How about reducing the ability of the corporate world to finance candidates
and influence legislation? Corporations are not people so why should they
enjoy greater rights than people just because they can buy those rights?
With an election coming up you who are oppressed by corporate greed should
look closely at the source of your candidates funding and elect those who
have the least ties to, and support from, the Comcasts of the world.
You can bet your rear end it ain't the Tea
baggers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
