Robert,
I have those same carbs on my BE with 1275 engine. I ran a hose down and
back under the body and secured it with cable ties.

Subject: [Spridgets] SU question

Hi All,

I finally got my Midget running yesterday. Thanks to everyone who
emailed and offered tips and moral support.

One of the reasons I stopped driving this car was that there was always
a really strong gas smell when I'd drive it. I noticed while working on
the car that this pair of SU carbs has an extra fitting on top of the
float chamber which look just like the gas inlet fittings. From what I
can tell these fittings were supposed to be connected to the evaporative
emissions canister. Since this car does not have an evaporative
emissions system what should I do with these? Can they simply be plugged
or can I run a gas-line from the front carb to the rear carb similar to
how the inlets are setup? I noticed while I was under the hood tuning
the car that some times when revving the car that gas would shoot out of
these fittings. I can't imagine that is a good thing.

Thanks,

Robert
