[Spridgets] Fuel From H2O

I was reading up on liquid fuel from coal the other day.

The problem is that nobody wants to invest into the plants
because the price of oil is so volatile. If it drops below
$40 dollars a barrel then gas from coal is not viable.

Clearly the current high price of oil is total BS otherwise we would
would see these plants opening up all over the place.

If I were president, I would announce to the nation (and the world)
that the US is embarking on a massive liquid fuel from coal program
and that we are going to build these plants across.

But it would be a total disinformation campaign, we would build
these "fake" plants, with real construction equipment, make work
jobs, the whole deal.

When they were completed I would have real tankers driving into
them and pretending to fill up. I'd have lots of PR. You know,
local mayors shaking hands with the plant managers etc...

These would all be ultra secured facilities, under the guise of
homeland security, but actually to protect the secret that they are
actually fake.

I'll bet that if we did this then suddenly you would see the world
oil price quickly drop to about $35 a barrel.

When the price drops (and I'm still pres) then I would announce to
the world that despite the non-profitability of the liquid fuel from
coal program, the US would continue to subsidize the operation to
ensure a long term stable price in liquid fuels.

WHat's wrong with fuel from Coal??
Even the oil producing countirs of Iran and Nigeria are using the SASOL
process, and maybe soon the Chinese... So why aren't we??

Quote:
Sasol Ltd. is a South African company involved in mining, energy, chemicals
and synfuels.

In particular, they produce petrol and diesel profitably from coal and
natural gas using Fischer-Tropsch process.
(notice the word 'profitably' --- dmg)

The company has factories at Sasolburg and Secunda (Secunda CTL) and has
taken a stake in projects under construction in Qatar (Oryx GTL), Iran (Arya
Polymers) and Nigeria (Escravos GTL). Sasol senior officials are also from
time to time involved in senior level negotiations with their China
counterparts with the view on establishing a chemical plant in China, being
the fastest growing economy in the world.
Unquote:

Google SASOL.

I've used their auto gas and South African Airways uses their Avgas.
I've been to their Sasolburg plant and it was non-polluting!!

Must be "NIHS" -- the "Not Invented Here Syndrome" !!
