The little used Eatons seem to be plentiful and cheap.  A lot of Miata
owners upgrade from the M45 to the M62 and some will sell the M45
pretty cheap.
Also, there are takeoffs from Minis and others that people change out
with very low miles on them.

The beauty of the Megasquirt is it can also control timing, which is a
good thing for forced induction.   You can couple it with a Ford EDIS
or other crank wheel trigger system.
