Last year someone decided NOT to use their moss (mainly our shit sucks) 
side mount oil filter.
So they donated it to the Holy Sprite project.
I tried it on the Holy Sprite and the hose interfered with the dip stick 
pretty bad so I opted not to use it.
So I re-discovered it while looking for some engine parts in a cabinet 
in the garage and since I was whipping up a spare engine for
the Lady Bug ('nother story) I tried this side mount filter kit from 
Most of Our Stuff is Shit. Since the 1275 dip stick is bent a little, I 
bent it more and it cleared the hose
But it still made for adjusting the timing a bit tough.
Anyway, last night Tiff's boy friend and I swap engines in about an hour 
(bonnet never came off the Bugeye) and before the beer break we fired it up.
Oil squirting out from the filter adapter like an oil well.
Called it quits for the night and today I took it off, checked it out, 
no burrs, not loose, gasket set correct and it wasn't leaking from the hose.
Re-install the part where they sell Mostly Oriental SUBSTANDARD SHIT, 
put in 2 more qts of oil only to have it squirt out from behind the adapter.
I put the stock spin on set up from the first engine on the new engine 
and no more leak. But now I have 3 qts on the garage floor and all over 
the nice new engine
thanks to some Maggot Of a Shit Supplier.
Tonight some one stopped by and we checked the side mount unit against 
the old engine, there is a chamfer on the bottom of this thing to clear 
the lower edge of the engine.
Guess what? If I knew enough to FILE TO FIT like all the parts from the 
Makers Of Sheer Shit, and ground about a 1/6 off that chamfer, it would 
have cleared the lower lip of the block.
No instructions but from past (20 years ago) experience, I should have 
known I needed to file it to fit right.
If the Manufacturer Of Stagnant Slop thinks I was a thorn in their side 
before.
Just wait til the new tee shirts and buttons come out!
And they will be "pollution resistant" unlike their excuse for quality 
rubber that goes away in a month.
If you buy anything from Mo$$, It's your own fault. It WILL fail it it 
even works out of the box.
