Aw, Larry, CCTVs in this country are nothing compared to England where since
the Labour Party came into power in 1997, they have 4.2 MILLION of them, or
one for every 14 people, watching you from the cradle to the grave, compared
to New York City with one per 1,333 residents. In Blighty, where they have
20% of the world's CCTVs, they are watching you in 1,000 towns and cities,
all the universities, major city centers, shopping malls, hospitals, ports
and airports, train and bus stations, retail and commercial users, all
covering 'quasi' public open space. If you live and work in London chances
are you are being caught over 300 times a day on camera.

Many are now becoming concerned at the manner in which CCTVs are being used
as a measure for social control of the people. CCTVs are now being used to
issue speeding tickets (gotchas), monitor traffic parking, and will issue a
parking ticket just as soon as the time has expired, all untouched by human
hands. CCTV's are being used to make sure people do not put to much rubbish
in their barrels (yep, again, a ticket). And to root out the scofflaws who
litter, do not recycle or do not pick up their doggie droppings! School
authorities are even using CCTVs to try and catch children who are not going
to the proper schools. And the list goes on and on. Unfortunately, the
drive to put more and more CCTVs comes at a cost, and the Home Office has
spent a staggering *78%* of its crime prevention budget on CCTV cameras, not
coppers on the beat.

Stay tuned, it will be coming here soon.
