Positive earth AND an alternator???
Positive earth alternators were never available on Spridgets and are
VERY rare anywhere else. At any rate, I would lay odds that, if you
disconnect the alternator, the current flow will cease, indicating
fried semiconductors in the alternator. Or a regulator problem if it
is an external regulator.
