[Spridgets] Paint Question

Here's a link to a guy's site who did his car (Corvair) in Rustolem white. 
While his method is time and labor extensive it worked. Another group I 
belong to (Scotty Trailer Group) use either Ace Hardware's version of 
Rustolem or True Values version. They spay after cutting the paint with 
thinner at 3 parts paint to 1 part thinner (cool weather) or 4 parts paint 
to 1 part thinner for hotter temps. Oh and they are using white also.
