Leo,

You should look into a photovoltaic solar system.

The incentives have changed as of January , this year. I don't know
what Texas electric power providers offers as a rebate, but the
Federal Tax Credit has increased from a cap of $2000 for residential
systems to 30% of the system cost. Under certain circumstances the
roof structure (if new roof or additional support is required) is
potentially included for the credit. Some states actually but back
excess electricity you produce (California does not... I now you are
all surprised by that..LOL)

Previously, only business installation qualified for the 30%, but
this year the 30% for business is a grant, so you don't have to wait
for tax time to get the refund. prices for solar panels have recently
taken a significant dip in cost.

If you have bills that size, you should really look into it.
