I have those on my Sprite Mk II. Just use the struts from the later cars and
weld the tabs onto the other side of the bonnet.

GREAT IDEA!  How about a project to design hood and trunk telescopic
adaptations for the 66 Midget rod supports.  Could they design and configure
using available parts?  I, for one, would pay for that!  Anyone done this
yet?
