[Spridgets] Hope...for GM?

I am certain that there are some on this list older than I, who actually
have memories of WWII. You might remember we won that one, right? And does
anybody who passed 9th grade civics remember WHY we won? Because we were
able to convert our automobile factories into war production facilities.
Now if we just rationalize away letting our auto industry dissapear, do you
really think Honda and Toyota will build us munitions to defend ourselves?
You let GM go down, and we might as well kiss EVERY thing we know about
America goodbye. Those parts producers who are dependant on Ford, GM, and
Chrysler for their day to day bread and butter work are the ones who also
usually build every part for every military item everywhere. Hey, lets sell
Hummer to some Middle East country, because they sell well over there.
Stupid, Stupid, Stupid. For a group of people who usually is so far to the
right they fall off of a flat earth, I am amazed at the Auto industry
bashing that goes on here. GM and Ford currently build WORLD CLASS CARS AND
TRUCKS. GM has more models in the top rankings than Toyota does. Try to
tell me that the US automakers were wrong to build big trucks and suv's,
then explain why Toyota, Honda, and Nissan have been trying so hard to break
into that market? Sequoia vs Tahoe? Tahoe gets better fuel mileage.
Silverado vs Titan? not even a match. Cobalt vs. Corolla? Cobalt sells
for less money, and gets 37mpg.

I don't believe in buy American just for the sake of it, but I guarantee
that model for model, GM builds a vehicle that is competitive in every
segment.
