The higher the number the more cold with
NGK's. 948 or 1098 normally take "5"'s stock ("6" hot street tuned) while stock 1275's normally take a "6", "7" tuned.
I ran "8"'s on my stock 1275 with Judson blower but these carbon fouled at lower rpm's around town. Too cold for all around use.
So I finally settled on "7"'s as a good all-around for this application while enlarging
the Holley's fuel jet to a .58 for higher rpm
enrichment (combustion process "cooling").
Worked.
