This cast twin-pipe manifold has a very poor reputation here in the UK. The
downpipe gasket is liable to blowing with monotonous regularity. I always
recommend losing that manifold as one of the best reliability improvements
to be made on a 1500 Spitfire.  
And no, I don't have a vested interest in selling tubular manifolds - I make
good money selling vast quantities of 1500 downpipe gaskets........
