that's the thing, Pat... it needs updating...lots of changes over the years in house and shop..there's

If the video tape is still current, there are plenty of places that can 
digitize it for much less than the cost of new equipment.

Contacted by my home owners insurance co for renewal and thinking about the set 
amounts of coverage.  I remembered that I had made
an inventory video of everything in the house and especially the shop/tools 
showing everything on every shelf and every drawer.  took awhile.
 
I used a vhs video camera and transferred it to video cassette tape.  I 
realized today I have nothing to view this video on anymore
 
I need to update the whole inventory as things have changed...  don't think my phone will do it and wondering what is the best device/media/etc to
use...Technology has left me in the dust..
 
suggestions for equipment and format are appreciated... admitting this is an old man on a limited budget and limited tech knowledge..  in other words
KISS strategy..
